PATH relies on four resources
PATH Relies on Four Resources
YOU Make the Difference
Dear friends,
PATH’s services would not be possible if it were not for the thousands of individuals, congregations, and businesses that generously share their prayer, time, money, and in-kind gifts.
Like in its early beginnings, it takes just one person to pray, step up to volunteer, donate a box of diapers, or write a check. Every resource is needed and together allows us to continue helping those in need to find their own way.
Prayer
Prayer is the most personal and intimate aspect of our relationship with God.
Some of us don’t have time or money to give to PATH. However, we all have the ability to pray.
It is thanks to prayer that God grants us the time and energy to help someone in need = Volunteers
It is thanks to prayer that God grants us the generosity to share our gifts freely with those in need = Donors
It is thanks to prayer that God grants us the wisdom to meet the needs of others in ways that foster dignity.
It is thanks to your prayers that PATH is here and able to help.
Volunteers
More than 60,000 services were provided by PATH in 2010. With a staff of just 17, that may seem impossible. But it is true… We get by with a little help from our friends!
More than 400 of our friends generously give their time to PATH. They work hard answering phones, greeting and assisting clients, interviewing and counseling, mentoring kids, handing out food, sorting school supplies, putting out PATH Week signs, picking up donations, distributing posters for special projects, processing bulk mail, repairing houses, stocking the food pantry, and helping with administrative duties.
And, those are just a few of the special volunteers who support PATH. Many others such as church youth groups, school groups, civic organizations, and local businesses all get involved in the mission by taking on special community service projects that benefit PATH programs.
In-Kind Gifts
In-kind gifts are non-monetary items that PATH collects and then gives directly to those who need help. If we had to purchase these items to give to PATH clients, we would have spent $4,992,000.
PATH’s Special Projects and Drives are designed to collect the important and costly items that can overwhelm a family that is barely making it month to month.
YOU give it to PATH and PATH gives it directly to families who need help.
In-kind gifts are priceless:
- Food
- Medication
- Potty paper
- Diapers
- Fans
- School Supplies
- Coats
- Blankets
- Christmas gifts
Monetary Gifts
Think of monetary gifts not as charity but instead as an investment in the well-being of others.
Your monetary gifts to PATH are investments in hope, intelligence, resiliency, and potential, and serve the common good.
PATH operates six programs, offering a multitude of services, and helping thousands of people. Each year we do “The Dollar Test”. It is designed to determine how well resources are managed. Resources include both monetary and in-kind gifts as well as volunteer hours. Because most of PATH clients are served thanks to in-kind gifts, and because without PATH’s programs, staff, and volunteers, these clients would not be served, we include the value of those gifts to arrive at The Dollar Test. In 2010, 96 cents out of every dollar went directly to clients, while 4 cents funded the agency’s operations.
Thank you for making it possible for PATH to help those who are hurting.
Blessings,
Christina
