<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>
<p>The purpose of the receptionist is to provide information and assistance to the public in a courteous manner and with sensitivity.   The receptionist is responsible for greeting walk-in guests and for logging phone messages for the prescription program.</p>
<p><strong>Special Knowledge and Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Must be able to volunteer time and services</li>
<li>Must be an effective and positive communicator with ability to impart information and direction to clients on their level of understanding</li>
<li>A minimal amount of computer literacy</li>
<li>Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and volunteers</li>
<li>Ability to effectively cope with a diverse client population and their families and work under conditions of moderate stress</li>
<li>Ability to work with minimum supervision</li>
<li>Must be willing to learn about the PATH Prescription Program, including eligibility.  Must also be willing to learn how to manage the phone system and how to access client information in the PATH RX database.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Work a morning or afternoon shift in prescription program.  Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM.  Other flexible schedules are also available if needed.</li>
<li>Greet walk-in clients and answer phone calls</li>
<li>Determine type of assistance needed</li>
<li>Make copies of pertinent information</li>
<li>If existing client, pull file and answer questions concerning medication information</li>
<li>Log in phone messages and pull client files</li>
<li>Call client regarding medication questions</li>
<li>Greet new clients and assist them in filling out intake application</li>
<li>Make new client files</li>
<li>Make copies of prescription program handouts</li>
<li>Keep all client information confidential.</li>
<li>Resolve complaints within scope of information and authority and refer to others, as appropriate.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Accountability:</strong></p>
<p>Receptionists will work closely with the prescription assistance staff and volunteers.  Receptionist will report to the Prescription Assistance Coordinator</p>
