Wintertime is (almost) here!

For families living in poverty, winter months can be an expensive strain on already tight budgets. Heating costs and winter wardrobes can be out of reach for a family that lives paycheck to paycheck, leaving children vulnerable to illnesses like hypothermia and pneumonia.

Every year, the PATH Coats For Kids Drive helps hundreds of families by giving kids a warm coat to keep them healthy and safe through the winter. The year 2023 was exceptional for our coat drive, with 1,175 coats distributed to Tyler and Smith County children. Most children received a new coat this year.

Next year’s Coats for Kids is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2024. Coat collection drives will begin mid-September, with coat registration starting on October 1.

Special thanks to all our sponsors, donors, friends, and especially our volunteers who spent countless hours sorting, hanging, and preparing coats for distribution day.
