COVID-19 EMERGENCY

RENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Smith County and PATH are working together to provide $7 million in rent and utilities assistance to families who are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds will be distributed by PATH, which has 35 years of experience helping people in need in Smith County.

About the Program

The PATH-Smith County COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program is available to renters within Smith County who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, who are experiencing housing instability, and whose income is at or below 80% of Area Median Family Income. We have emergency funds available to help Smith County renters pay rent and utility bills (including past due rent and utilities).

Landlords are also eligible to participate in this program as long as they agree to the terms of the program.
